We are thrilled to share this amazing opportunity for a childcare professional with a background in Occupational Therapy or Special Education to join a warm and welcoming single parent household as a full time aide to a bright, sweet six year old child on the Autism Spectrum. This role is ideal for someone who is ready to leave the classroom and bring their expertise into a private, holistic home setting.
The ideal candidate has experience working with Autistic children, preferably in a classroom or therapeutic setting, and a passion for creating meaningful, engaging, and nurturing environments. We are looking for someone who is energetic, outdoorsy, and adventurous, someone who is not afraid to get sandy on the beach, hike muddy trails, or jump into a swimming pool. Familiarity with Waldorf style education or alternative learning philosophies is a plus. The family would love to find someone who has had a good and positive long term experience working in a HNW household and who values a natural, holistic lifestyle. A background in Hawaii based or nature based educational programs is an added bonus, as is experience working under or alongside a strong BCBA mentor.
The schedule is week on, week off, from 3/4p to 7 AM. There is a weekday Therapist who shadows during the school day, you will mainly be responsible for dinner, bedtime and overnights. You must be open to travel for up to two weeks at a time. A college degree is strongly preferred. Candidates must have a valid California driver's license and be comfortable driving up to 90 minutes to a second residence. You must be fully vaccinated and boosted.
