A loving family based in Florence, Tuscany, Italy, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Nanny to provide full-time care for their two young boys (1.5 years and 6 months). This is a long-term position in an informal yet high-standard household, working alongside the parents and other household staff.

The ideal candidate will be warm, nurturing, and energetic, with a proactive approach to childcare and a genuine passion for supporting children’s development. Longevity in previous roles is highly valued. Occasional travel with the family may be required.

Languages spoken in the home are English, Spanish, and French.

Responsibilities

Daily Care: Getting the children up, dressed, and ready for the day.
Meals & Bottles: Preparing healthy, age-appropriate meals and bottles; sterilizing bottles as needed.
Educational & Creative Activities: Engaging the children in games, crafts, music, and structured learning activities that support cognitive and emotional development.
Playdates & Socialization: Organizing and supervising playdates and social activities.
Routines: Assisting with nap schedules, bath time, and bedtime routines, including monitoring the baby monitor.
Hygiene: Assisting with personal hygiene (teeth brushing, handwashing, grooming) and teaching age-appropriate independence.
Travel Support: Packing/unpacking and managing the children’s needs when traveling with the family.
Safety: Maintaining a secure and safe environment at all times.

Light Housekeeping (related to children):

Children’s laundry (washing, drying, ironing, and organizing clothes).
Tidying children’s play areas, bedrooms, and nurseries (weekly deep clean of nurseries/playrooms).
Ensuring toys are clean and safe.
Cleaning up after children’s meals.

Other Duties:

Running occasional child-related errands (e.g., grocery shopping).
Maintaining open communication with the parents about routines, milestones, and any concerns.
Adapting to changes in schedules and routines, supporting the household team when needed.

Requirements

Proven experience as a nanny in private households, ideally with babies and toddlers.
Longevity in previous roles with excellent references.
Warm, nurturing, and energetic, with excellent organizational skills.
Discreet and respectful of family privacy.
Clear communicator with strong interpersonal skills.
Flexible, proactive, and able to adapt to a changing family schedule.

Work conditions

Working Days & Hours: Monday to Friday, up to 60 hours per week
Start Date: Between August 28th and September 15th, 2025 (flexible for the right candidate)
Accommodation: Private bedroom with bathroom provided
Contract: Permanent, Full-time

Salary

Negotiable, commensurate with experience.
