Description

We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Full Charge Housekeeper (M/F) to maintain a beautiful 10,000 sq. ft. private residence in Old Brookville, NY. This spacious home includes 8 bedrooms, 12 bathrooms, a formal living room, a formal kitchen, and a separate catering kitchen. The ideal candidate will take pride in maintaining a pristine and comfortable living environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform thorough cleaning of all rooms, including bedrooms, bathrooms, living areas, kitchens (formal and catering), hallways, and stairwells
  • Execute deep cleaning tasks on a regular basis, including but not limited to:

    • Cleaning and polishing furniture and fixtures

    • Vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping all types of flooring (hardwood, tile, carpet)

    • Cleaning windows, mirrors, and glass surfaces

    • Scrubbing and sanitizing bathrooms and kitchens, including toilets, showers, sinks, countertops, and appliances

    • Dusting all surfaces, including baseboards, light fixtures, and decorative items

    • Emptying trash and recycling bins

  • Maintain the overall tidiness and organization of the entire house
  • Manage and perform laundry tasks, including washing, drying, folding, and ironing clothes, linens, and towels
  • Stock and maintain cleaning supplies, informing the homeowner or designated individual when supplies need to be replenished
  • Light tidying and organization of pantries and closets as needed
  • Assist with occasional household tasks as requested by the homeowner
  • Maintain a high level of discretion and respect for the privacy of the household
  • Report any maintenance issues or damages to the homeowner or designated individual
  • Must be comfortable with pet care: feeding, walking, brushing, cleaning up after dogs, and assisting with vet or grooming visits
  • Coordinate with other household staff or vendors as needed
  • Proactively take the initiative in identifying tasks and areas needing attention, even beyond the daily routine

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Housekeeper in a private residence, preferably in a large home
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness
  • Thorough knowledge of cleaning products and techniques for various surfaces and materials
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Reliable and punctual
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to follow a routine but also take initiative independently
  • Experience and comfort working with dogs and handling basic pet care
  • Strong communication skills and a positive, professional attitude
