Deb’s Domestic Agency (www.DebsDomesticAgency.com) “DDA” is in search for a long-term, live-in Domestic Couple for a HNW family based in New York City with a home in California. The family has a 6-year old child and their main 6-story townhouse is 12k sq. ft. on the Upper East Side. The couple will have their own separate quarters with a private living room and kitchen in the main townhouse on a different floor from the family. Two other household staff will share the living room and kitchen only during working hours of 9am-5pm M-F. During the first 4-weeks in the summer the couple will have their own private studio apartment near the family’s Orange County home. For the second half of summer (the last 6 weeks) the couple will join the family in their Southampton home with a private bedroom sharing a bathroom with the child M-F but will return to the townhouse on the Upper East Side for the weekends.
The ideal Domestic Couple will have the following qualifications and experience in a formal or semi-formal household and serve as:
- Lead Executive Housekeeper
- Cook/Chef
- Chauffeur
- Laundress
- Maintenance/Handyman
- Property Caretaker
- Organizer
- Team player
- Assistant to the family as needed
- Travel assistant
This is a year-round live-in position that requires the couple’s full commitment. Unfortunately this would not be an ideal position for someone who has pets, young children or any major commitments that would not allow them to travel or live-in.
Start date is ASAP. The Domestic Couple will work about 50-hours a week M-F 7:00am-7pm and occasional weekends. A vehicle will be provided for the couple to use for work related use. We are looking for solid couples that have worked together in a similar position for 5+ years with outstanding references. The couple should understand how to live-in while being discrete and giving the family as much privacy as possible. They should be pleasant to be around and work well as a team with the other staff by setting a high standard for the rest of the staff to follow.
Other duties include but are not limited to the following:
- All household cleaning (daily, deep, seasonal etc.)
- Cooking for family
- Driving family members as needed
- Wardrobe and closet organization with proper care of fine linens
- Manage and oversee housekeeper, landscapers, vendors etc.
- Supervise construction projects and negotiate and approve vendors’ invoices
- Pet care for 2 cats (daily litter box cleaning, feeding, vet appointments etc.)
- Coordinate, manage and be present for household services - cleaners, appliance repairs, deliveries, contractors, etc.
- Ensure all household mechanical and electrical systems are in good working order (i.e. HVAC, security system, cable, and wireless network, etc.)
- Schedule and supervise repairs and maintenance as needed and oversee outside professionals such as electricians and plumbers in the home
- Organize closets, storage spaces, home office
- Coordinate and oversee seasonal contractors - lawn, landscaping, deep cleaning
- Manage the maintenance of all vehicles; schedule routine service and manage appointments, licensing, insurance and warranties
- Assist with scheduling, vacations, travel etc.
- Knowledgeable in flower arranging, formal table setting and service
- Run errands as needed
- Grocery shopping
- Managing supplies (restocking, purchasing etc.)
- Other projects and duties as assigned
