PART-TIME PERSONAL SHOPPER, BRENTWOOD, CA

A dynamic family is seeking a Personal Shopper to assist with their family shopping, styling and organization. This role combines the tasks of curating personalized outfits and household organization, ensuring the wardrobe space is streamlined and aesthetically aligned with their style and needs of a family of four (two adults, two children).

The Personal Shopper will assist in selecting and purchasing clothing and accessories, based on individual preferences, needs, and style. The role involves making proposals for family members, shopping online and in stores for specific items or season requirements, managing purchases, returns and fittings. The Personal Shopper will handle presenting selections on hold from different suppliers and organizing returns. Additional duties include managing the clothing inventory of the family, organizing wardrobes, training housekeepers to new standards, personally handling packing for trips, and proposing outfits based on the existing wardrobe as well as for events or social gatherings. The Personal Shopper will be working at their Brentwood residence for 20-30 hours a week with an additional 8 hours of shopping in town.

Responsibilities

  • Curate shopping lists and purchase items on behalf of the client, both in-store and online
  • Coordinate product delivery, returns, and exchanges, ensuring all transactions are seamless and managed professionally
  • Manage budgets for shopping and present options that balance style, function, and   cost
  • Provide personal styling advice for daily outfits, special events, or wardrobe refreshes
  • Help with personal styling for significant events, holidays and engagements
  • Organize client’s personal spaces including closets, wardrobes and bedrooms
  • Conduct routine closet audits while staying abreast of fashion trends to keep clients looks current and fresh
  • Must be able to keep up with kids’ sizes and remove outgrow clothes from kids’ wardrobe, suggesting replacements seasonally
  • Create systems for maintaining organization, color-coded clothing racks, labeled storage, or categorized closets
  • Assist clients in decluttering and removing unnecessary items to create a more organized and visually appealing environment
  • Provide suggestions on how to best utilize available space, whether for storage solutions or decorative improvements
  • Manage inventory of clothes for resale, listing, photographing and packing these for forwarding to chosen partners
  • Help organize seasonal changes, ensuring clothing and other items are appropriately stored and rotated
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, client preferences, and organizing efforts for future reference. Especially for high value and branded items
  • Help manage a shopping and organizational inventory for easy access and reordering
  • Must have a proper method of packing and unpacking for when family travels including photobooks of inventories, packing lists (researching the proper clothes that are suitable for the trip)
  • Gift giving ideas and shopping

Requirements

  • Flexible, typically during standard business hours but may include evenings or weekends based on client needs
  • Previous experience in personal shopping, retail, organization, or interior design is preferred
  • Work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of current trends in fashion, for children and adults, not limited to designer brands but all fashion items for sports, leisure, home lounge wear, travel and seasonal requirements
  • Proficiency in using digital tools including online shopping platforms and spreadsheets for planning and managing shopping or organizational projects
  • Meticulous attention to detail and high standards of professionalism
  • Creative and adaptable with an eye for design and style
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative to solve problems
  • Discretion and respect for privacy

Location: Brentwood, CA

Schedule: 20-30 hours a week during normal business hours and 8 hours of additional shopping in town. A flexible schedule required for occasional events and weekends based on principal’s needs.

Rate: $40/hr (DOE)

Employment is contingent upon passing a background check and agency’s ability to verify professional references
