Seasonal Private Chef   
Location: Litchfield County, CT 
Schedule: Less than 40 hours/week | Flexibility required for events and weekends 
Salary: $80,000–$100,000 base + performance based bonus, health stipend  
Contract Type: Seasonal (May–November) | Potential Temp-to-Perm Opportunity 
 
A hospitable private household in beautiful Litchfield County seeks a warm, personable, and highly creative Private Chef to elevate their seasonal lifestyle with nourishing, farm-to-table cuisine and hospitality excellence. This role is ideal for a culinary enthusiast who thrives in a collaborative environment, values fresh, seasonal ingredients, and versatility in palette preference.
 
Key Responsibilities: 
  • Plan and prepare nutrient-dense, healthy meals, primarily lunches and dinners, with flexibility for dinner parties and events. 
  • Execute creative, flavorful menus inspired by farm-to-table principles, diverse global flavors, and dietary preferences (no seed oils). 
  • Collaborate with a long-term housekeeper (who is also a skilled cook) and household staff to create seamless service and warm hospitality. 
  • Source ingredients from family gardens, local farmers, artisans, and high-quality suppliers, emphasizing sustainability and quality. 
  • Oversee kitchen operations, maintain a pristine cooking environment, manage inventory, and prep meals that can be easily reheated. 
  • Create entertaining experiences for intimate gatherings (10–20 guests), including cocktail hours, wine pairings, and outdoor culinary use (Argentinian grill, pizza oven, etc.). 
  • Participate in planning and execution of Thanksgiving dinner and seasonal entertainment. 
  • Engage with plans for expanding a vegetable garden and incorporating homegrown produce into menus. 
     
Ideal Candidate Profile: 
  • Culinary-forward mindset with an interest gardening or gardening oversight would be welcome. 
  • Comfortable working around chickens & dogs. 
  • Wine knowledge and pairing experience is a plus. 
  • High level of organization, reliability, and adaptability— attention to detail is key. 
  • Approachable, collaborative, humble with a sense of humor, and enjoys being part of a team. 
  • Comfortable with casual yet elevated culinary style. 
  • Open to a temp-to-perm arrangement with performance-based incentives and long-term growth potential.
