Nanny – New Jersey
HNW family seeking a mature, experienced, caring, happy, and easy-going, long-term nanny for a toddler girl who is sweet, bubbly, funny, and has an unmatched curiosity to explore and learn. Confidentiality and discretion are of paramount importance. Family is seeking to fill this position imminently; Nanny will need to be available to start as early as late May to early June.
Work Hours
Monday – Friday, 8:00am - 6:00pm in Colts Neck, NJ, ability to commute daily
Travel expected on occasion (i.e. 2-3 times/year)
Flexibility is required in the event of last-minute travel
Nanny Job Responsibilities:
- Meet the physical, emotional, social, and cognitive needs of the child throughout their various phases of early childhood development
- Contribute to a safe, caring, nurturing, and stimulating environment for the child
- Keep child’s play area and bedroom tidy
- Perform light household tasks, including child’s laundry and dishes as needed
- Prepare child’s meals throughout the day, to include breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks
- Plan the child’s daily schedule to include parent’s requests, naps, and various developmentally appropriate activities
- Organize engaging and educational activities (i.e. games, crafts, music, puppet shows, story time)
- Change diapers and bathe child
- Ensure the child’s safety during indoors and outdoors activities to enable a positive environment to learn and play
- Work with parents to promote the child’s happiness, well-being, and development
- Provide one on one entertainment, education, and activities in house as well as programming outside of the home
Nanny Skills:
- Experience promoting a child’s physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development
- Creative and imaginative in developing fun and engaging ideas to do or play with the child
- Takes initiative to source and plan age-appropriate activities
- Compassionate and patient demeanor when addressing a child’s potential behavioral incidents
- Excellent communication between both the parents and the child
- Innate ability to understand child’s needs to encourage receptiveness to your requests
- Highly organized and demonstrates ability to multitask
- Cooking and cleaning skills, ability to cook nutritious and well-liked meals
- Strong problem-solving skills to be able to successfully deal with everyday issues
- Passion for working with children
- Excellent understanding of child development in different age stages
- Adaptable to the evolving needs of the child
- Experience potty training a toddler is a plus
- Reliable and punctual
Nanny Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of previous experience as a Nanny or Babysitter
- College degree is preferred
- Able to work legally in the United States
- Fully vaccinated
- Active CPR, CPI and First Aid certifications or willing to agree to get certifications within first 6 months of hire
- Basic swimming skills and level of comfort being in water should the child play in the pool or at the beach
- Additional training in child development and early education is a plus (i.e. preschool teacher, aide, camp counselor, college degree with a focus in this area)
- Owning a car is preferred
- Must have a valid driver’s license, and a clean driving record in the last 3 years
- Babysitting Certification, Training and Advanced Childcare Courses from the American Red Cross is a plus
Compensation and Benefits
$31-40/hr. commensurate with experience.
40 hours/week guaranteed, with overtime rate of time and a half for any hours over 40
Health insurance, accrued sick time, and paid time off included.
