Private Long Island (Manhasset/Great Neck) family seeks a live-out nanny to provide childcare to their 20-month-old son (and baby on the way.) Additionally, this candidate will provide household support during downtime, i.e. helping with light housekeeping, laundry and meal prep for the children. The family has a Monday to Friday housekeeper. The schedule for this position is Tuesday to Saturday, 9am to 6pm, with flexibility for additional weekend hours or overnights as necessary. The ideal candidate is energetic, possesses a team player mentality (very hands on Mom) and has experience and a passion for working with newborns and toddlers. This position requires effective and open communication, as well as flexibility and adaptability. Must be CPR certified and a confident swimmer. No driver’s license is needed, as there’s a shuttle that takes you from the train to the residence.

  • Supervise and support children; accompany to and from various activities while maintaining a supportive and warm connection
  • Facilitate active play, engage in activities, promote positive social interactions and good manners
  • Assist in service during mealtime as needed
  • Help with various household tasks as requested during downtime, when childcare is not needed
  • Organize inventory of both children’s belongings as well as help maintain household inventory and let appropriate team members know when supplies are needed
  • Help maintain overall organization and tidiness throughout the household and children’s rooms
  • Light housekeeping and general cleanup after meals
  • Coordinate with other team members and house staff regarding children’s schedule as well as overall household functions as needed
  • Additional Nanny responsibilities and duties as needed and requested

Requirements

  • Excellent references required
  • Minimum 3+ years working in childcare position or experience working with children
  • Exceptional organizational skills and dedication to responsibilities; willing and able to take direction well
  • Ability to prioritize and manage a high-volume of to-do tasks at once
  • Dynamic, enthusiastic, physically fit, and capable of actively participating in a range of activities with children

  • Must be a strong swimmer who is very comfortable supervising and playing with children in the water
  • Ability to travel with family as needed, valid Passport is required
  • COVID-19 vaccination required
  • Legally able to work in the United States
