Contract Chef Position: Term runs through September

Seeking a full-time live out chef for a family of four in Palm Beach.

The role will require travel May-September to the Northeast. The chef must be highly experienced creating a healthy cuisine along with having prepared meals on yachts. The majority of the schedule is cooking for the family in their homes but occasional lunches will be prepared and serving on their boat.

The family is extremely private and requires discretion, discernment, along with a calm demeanor and disposition. The role will include preparing two meals a day for four adults (employers + two staff) and for two small children five days a week.

The candidate should be a mature chef who will be flexible and able to ensure the smooth running of the employer’s kitchen.  The individual should have excellent organizational skills and be a collaborative team player.

Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications. The employer offers housing while away from Florida, travel expenses, full benefits, PTO, and an annual bonus.

The candidate must pass a comprehensive background check, provide verifiable direct references along with the willingness to sign a thorough Non-Disclosure and Arbitration Agreement.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS

  • Honest, diligent, responsible, courteous and discreet
  • Flexible attitude and a self-starter
  • Positive, calm, pleasant personality
  • Hard working, detail-oriented with strong organization skills
  • Have experience cooking on yachts, or be comfortable doing so
  • Must be a team player
  • Non-smoker
  • Command of the English language should be sound both verbally and in writing
  • US Citizenship or Green Card required
  • Well-groomed, physically able to perform the duties of the position
  • Must own a car and have a valid driver’s license

 

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO

  • Grocery shopping 2-3 times per week; maintain supplies
  • Ensure there is always food for the weekend
  • Responsible for grocery budget
  • Purchase and keep beverages stocked for household staff
  • Menu planning based on healthy choices
  • Healthy snacks for children
  • Meal preparation for the family: lunch and dinner
  • Responsible for occasional food preparation and serving for smaller parties (4-12 guests)
  • Responsible for managing the kitchen’s cleanliness
