Full-Time Live-In Nanny | Outer Banks, NC

Fun and loving family in Kitty Hawk, North Carolina (2 hours outside of Virginia Beach) is looking for a full-time live-in nanny to join their family of 5 when their current nanny goes on maternity leave in June. If a candidate wanted to start sooner, they could offer part-time hours before then. This family consists of two kind grandparents, their 5 and 10-year-old granddaughters and 4-year-old grandson. The schedule will be 11am-7pm 3 week days and Saturday and Sunday. The nanny will have two consecutive week days off per week. The family is happy to work with the nanny to find the best schedule that fits everyone's needs! The current nanny will be returning on a part-time basis and will do more of the organizing and housework. 

Responsibilities:

• Full childcare including transportation, coming up with fun activities, and helping with daily routines
• Child cooking including simple meal prep for the older children
• Light child-related tidying up. There is a housekeeper once a week for deep cleaning and there will be a part-time nanny handling some of the background work as well.  
• Overnight care of the children, with notice, when the grandparents travel without the children
• Traveling with the family and supporting the children in new locations 
• Child laundry 
• Child-related organizing 

Desired Qualifications:

• Ideal candidate is well-read, has a broader world view, sense of humor, kind, and knowledgeable about child development and upcoming milestones
• Team player happy to collaborate with involved extended family 
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively
• Excited to be part of a fun-loving and warm family long-term

Requirements:

• MUST be a strong swimmer and extremely comfortable in the ocean and pool as their house is walking distance to the beach
• Driver's license and clean driving record (car will be provided for transporting the children if needed)
• Excited to live in a small beach community year-round 
• Up to date on TDap, COVID, and MMR vaccinations
• Comfortable with dogs/pets 
• Legal to work in the US 

Salary & Benefits:

• $35 per hour plus applicable overtime for any extra hours worked
