Position Overview:

Highly active family is seeking a polished and experienced Butler/House Manager to step into the role following the retirement of their long-term butler of 16 years. This is an opportunity for a service-minded professional with a passion for excellence and deep expertise in managing luxury homes and delivering personalized high end formal service.

 

Position is located primarily in the family’s Jupiter Island home however service is also required in their Brielle NJ home (Live-in, Cottage provided). Occasionally needed in Okeechobee, FL home as well.

 

Schedule:

  • Regular schedule: Approximately 50 hours per week. Wednesday – Sunday (with flexibility for events, travel, and holidays)

 

Primary Responsibilities:

Formal Service & Hospitality

  • Provide formal service for both intimate family meals and larger entertaining occasions.
  • Expertly set and maintain table & fine dining settings, provide wine/beverage service.

Event Planning & Execution

  • Coordinate and oversee formal dinners (4–10 guests) and larger gatherings, managing every detail to deliver seamless experiences.

Household Operations

  • Maintain elevated standards for household presentation, including daily turn-down and set-up routines.
  • Care for valuables including artwork, fine China, silver, linens, and furnishings.

Staff Oversight

  • Hire, train, and supervise household staff as needed.
  • Create schedules, provide guidance, and foster a respectful, collaborative working environment.

Vendor & Inventory Management

  • Liaise with vendors, manage service providers, and maintain household inventory and supplies.

Guest Relations

  • Provide warm, discreet hospitality to family and guests, ensuring comfort and personalized attention throughout their stay.

Pet Care

  • Assist with the care of the family’s small dog, including feeding, walks, grooming appointments, and occasional travel care.

Wardrobe & Personal Item Management

  • Maintain and organize clothing, assist with packing/unpacking, and handle wardrobe care including steaming and maintenance.

Floral & Decorative Touches

  • Arrange and maintain fresh floral displays to enhance the home’s ambiance.

Travel Coordination

  • Work closely with the Estate Manager, Family Assistant, Yacht Captains, and Pilots to support family travel logistics and transportation needs.

Financial Administration

  • Oversee household budgets, track expenses, review invoices, and collaborate with the Family Office to ensure accurate financial management.

 

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Minimum of 6 years experience in luxury household or estate management roles.
  • Expertise in formal service, event planning, staff management, and fine home care.
  • Discreet, professional, and highly trustworthy with strong communication skills.
  • Ability to lead with grace, manage multiple priorities, and maintain exceptional attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of fine wardrobe care, floral design, and luxury home presentation.
  • Tech-savvy and proficient in managing household systems and schedules.
  • Physically able to perform hands-on tasks as needed.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
