A private family residing in Palm Beach, committed to providing their child with a nurturing and enriching educational environment is seeking a Governess / Educator. The family values the importance of holistic education and are seeking a dedicated Governess / Educator to join thier household and support the intellectual and emotional development of their child.
The Governess / Educator will help to oversee the educational needs of the child within the private residence in Palm Beach. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of one or more educational philosophies such as Montessori, Reggio Emilia, Waldorf, or similar approaches, and be able to incorporate these methodologies into the child's daily routines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement age-appropriate educational activities and curriculum tailored to the child's individual needs and interests.
- Foster a nurturing and stimulating learning environment that encourages curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking.
- Develop and maintain a structured daily schedule that balances academic learning, playtime, and extracurricular activities.
- Provide one-on-one instruction and support to ensure academic progress and achievement in various subjects
- Incorporate outdoor exploration, arts and crafts, music, and other hands-on activities into the educational program.
- Foster positive social and emotional development through effective communication, conflict resolution, and relationship-building skills.
- Collaborate with parents to establish and maintain open communication regarding the children's progress, goals, and any concerns.
- Organize and accompany the child on educational outings, field trips, and cultural experiences as appropriate.
- Encourage independence and self-confidence while promoting a love for learning and a growth mindset.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times while upholding the family's values and household rules.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Early Childhood Education, or a related field preferred.
- Previous experience working as a Governess, Nanny, Teacher, or Educator in a private household setting is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of one or more educational philosophies such as Montessori, Reggio Emilia, Waldorf, or similar approaches.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to adapt teaching strategies to accommodate different learning styles and developmental stages.
- Patience, creativity, and a genuine passion for working with children.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
