We are seeking a Facilities Control Systems Engineer to support a commercial-grade building environment with a strong focus on building automation, HVAC, and integrated control systems. This role partners closely with the Facilities Director to ensure systems are reliable, efficient, and continuously improving through smart technology and thoughtful execution.

This is a hands-on, highly technical role for someone who enjoys owning complex systems, solving problems in real time, and helping modernize facilities through automation and controls.

The Role

You will be responsible for the design, operation, integration, and ongoing support of facility control systems across indoor and outdoor environments, including local and remote locations. You’ll work across HVAC, MEP, hydraulic, pool, and other building systems to improve performance, reliability, and ease of operation.

You’ll also play a key role in system upgrades, vendor oversight, and long-term planning, while serving as a technical resource and mentor to the broader facilities team.

This role includes participation in an on-call rotation requiring responsiveness to urgent facility needs.

 


What You’ll Be Doing

  • Manage and support control systems and HVAC operations across commercial-grade facilities

  • Design, implement, program, test, and commission building system upgrades

  • Integrate existing systems with new technologies to improve operational efficiency

  • Oversee contractors, including proposals, design reviews, project execution, safety, and quality control

  • Develop and maintain technical documentation for facility and control system projects

  • Identify system issues early and drive them through resolution

  • Advise on budgets, project planning, and short- and long-term system strategies

  • Stay current on control system technologies, materials, and best practices

  • Mentor team members on control system knowledge when needed

  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and all applicable safety standards


What We’re Looking For

  •  Specialized technical training or licensing required

  • Strong experience with building control systems, including HVAC, MEP, hydraulic, pool, and related equipment

  • Working knowledge of control system design concepts and design software

  • Advanced troubleshooting, problem-solving, and decision-making skills

  • Comfortable managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously

  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative, solutions-oriented mindset

  • High level of professionalism, discretion, and accountability

  • Proficient with computers, Android devices, and technical software

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record


Nice to Have (Not Required)

  • Control systems certifications

  • JACE certification

  • IT interface or network integration experience

  • Background in private estates, hospitality, museums, or similar environments
