We are seeking an exceptional Family Household Manager to oversee the smooth and efficient operation of a refined private estate in Greenwich, CT. This individual will serve as the primary point of contact for all household matters, ensuring the home is maintained to the highest standards, while supporting the needs and preferences of the family. The Family Household Manager will be responsible for managing staff, coordinating vendors, and handling day-to-day household operations, including event planning, maintenance, and providing direct support to the principal family. The ideal candidate will possess a meticulous attention to detail, a service-oriented mindset, and the ability to manage a team while maintaining a calm, organized, and professional environment. This role requires flexibility and a proactive approach, as well as the ability to handle diverse tasks and situations in a fast-paced, high-profile household.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the home, ensuring it is in pristine condition at all times. Maintain high standards of cleanliness, including both general housekeeping and specialized cleaning for fine surfaces (e.g., piano finish, wood, leather, upholstery).

  • Source, train, and manage household staff and external vendors. Ensure proper staffing levels, supervise daily tasks, and monitor performance. Maintain daily schedules and address absences or tardiness as needed.

  • Act as the primary point of contact for all vendors and contractors. Oversee all property maintenance, including landscaping, seasonal treatments, and upkeep of household systems.

  • Coordinate and plan family events, gatherings, and guest visits. Provide direct support for family needs, including meal planning and execution, travel arrangements, errands, and calendar management.

  • Track household budgets, review and submit vendor invoices, and manage household supplies, including creating shopping lists and maintaining inventory. Oversee the upkeep of household manuals and operational documents.

  • Perform errands as required, including transportation of children (vehicle provided), shopping, and assisting with pet care. Ensure the family’s day-to-day needs are met with a high level of professionalism and discretion.

  • Conduct daily walkthroughs of the property, proactively identifying areas that need attention. Provide real-time feedback to staff and resolve issues promptly.

Requirements:

  • Prior experience in a domestic or hospitality-related role, ideally in a private residence or family office.

  • High level of integrity, discretion, and commitment to confidentiality, with excellent communication skills in both written and spoken English.

  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and a proven track record of reliability and punctuality.

  • Ability to work seamlessly with other household staff, demonstrate flexibility, and handle overtime or occasional weekend/evening work as required.

  • Must have reliable transportation. A car will be provided for child transport, and occasional errand running using your own vehicle will be reimbursed for gas and mileage.

  • Successful candidates will undergo background checks, reference checks, credit checks, and health assessments (including immunizations). Valid US passport or Green Card is required.

Schedule & Availability:

  • Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM (typically), with occasional evening and weekend hours as needed for events or urgent tasks.
  • The Household Manager should be available for 24/7 support in case of urgent issues, though such situations are rare.
Compensation & Benefits: Up to $140,000/yearly + medical stipend + 2 weeks PTO (must coordinate ahead of time and ideally overlap with the family's vacation/holiday).
 
Location: Greenwich, CT. This is a fully on-site position. Only local candidates will be considered at this time.
