Overview
We are seeking a highly professional, discreet, and security-focused Executive Protection Driver to support senior leadership and high-profile principals. This role combines secure transportation, personal protection, and situational risk management. The ideal candidate brings extensive law enforcement or executive protection experience, advanced defensive driving skills, exceptional judgment, and the ability to adapt quickly while maintaining strict confidentiality and professionalism.
Essential Job Functions
- Provide secure, reliable transportation between residences, corporate offices, airports, meetings, events, and other business or personal locations.
- Conduct advance route planning, threat assessments, and location security evaluations to minimize risk exposure.
- Maintain constant situational awareness and proactively identify potential threats or safety concerns.
- Perform physical escort and close protection services during travel, meetings, public appearances, and events.
- Monitor traffic, weather, and environmental conditions and adjust routes or schedules as needed.
- Respond calmly and effectively to emergencies, medical incidents, or security threats.
- Maintain vehicles in excellent condition, including inspections, fueling, cleaning, and coordinating maintenance and repairs.
- Ensure vehicles are properly equipped with required safety and emergency equipment (AED, first aid kit, fire extinguisher, roadside safety tools).
- Maintain clear, professional communication with principals, executive offices, law enforcement agencies, and internal security teams.
- Conduct advance security assessments for events and off-site meetings, including coordination with local law enforcement or security partners when needed.
- Assist with limited administrative or logistical tasks such as scheduling coordination, expense processing, document handling, or time-sensitive errands as needed.
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all personal, corporate, and security-related information.
- Travel domestically and internationally as required.
- Remain available for flexible scheduling, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call assignments.
Qualifications
- Prior law enforcement or executive protection experience (retired or former officer required).
- Proven experience as an Executive Protection Driver, corporate security driver, or professional chauffeur in a protective services environment preferred.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Concealed carry permit and ability to maintain firearms proficiency (i.e. NYS Armed Guard License or LEOSA Certification / HR-218)
- Advanced defensive driving training and strong situational awareness skills.
- Excellent judgment, professionalism, discretion, and interpersonal communication abilities.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Physical fitness appropriate for protective services duties.
- Willingness to sit or remain idle for extended periods while remaining alert and prepared.
- Prior professional driving training or evasive driving certification.
- Experience with threat intelligence collection and risk analysis.
- Knowledge of residential security protocols and corporate protection environments.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Leadership experience and strong work ethic with a proactive, service-oriented mindset.
