Our Kauai client is looking for a great Facilities Technician to join their team!

The Lead Facilities Technician (III) is an advanced skill level position on the Facilities Team, whose
responsibilities include the performance of all aspects of facilities maintenance on the property, including but not limited to general upkeep of buildings and structures, repairs and handyman tasks, construction and renovation projects, and the implementation of preventative maintenance protocols. As directed by the Facilities Manager, the Lead Facilities Technician will comprehensively execute projects and tasks, leading other Facilities Team members, demonstrating proper building practices, and ensuring worksite safety and quality completion of work.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Review and/or development of building and project plans, taking measurements and
    assisting in the creation of material lists (10%)
  • Preparation, execution and cleanup of maintenance and building projects (75%)
  • Supervision and training of assigned Facilities team members (5%)
  • Upkeep of workshop areas, tools and equipment (5%)
  • Administrative tasks, purchasing, expense tracking and reporting (5%)

Skills & Work Requirements:

  • Ability to read building plans, drawings and sketches, and to fully grasp their relationship to
    respective structures
  • Skilled in the taking of measurements, the determination of proper project supplies and
    materials, and the accurate calculation of material sizes and quantities
  • Ability to develop or assist in the development of project plans and designs
  • Highly skilled in the use of all tools necessary to perform maintenance and building tasks
  • Skilled in fundamental building concepts; ability to ensure that materials are level, plumb,
    and installed with as little waste possible
  • Skilled in a broad range of building trades, including but not limited to carpentry, plumbing,
    electrical, roofing, flooring and drywall
  • Ability to inspect, diagnose and successfully conduct repairs or maintenance as needed
  • Comprehensive understanding of worksite safety and proper operation of tools/equipment
  • Ability to take direction, execute projects as expected, and lead team members

Qualifications & Job Requirements:

  • Significant employment history in building trades and/or property maintenance, with
    positive, verified references
  • Extensive experience working with building materials and tools
  • Strong working knowledge of building techniques and methods, including installation,
    construction and maintenance
  • Ability to accurately read building plans and technical drawings
  • Willingness to enforce and comply with safety guidelines at all times
  • Solid basic math skills
  • Good physical condition, stamina, and dexterity

Physical Demands & Working Conditions:

  • Bending, stooping, reaching
  • Working in cramped spaces, on step-stools and/or ladders
  • Pushing, pulling, lifting up to 45 pounds
  • Working in outdoors with or without wet, dusty or windy weather conditions
  • Able to drive a side by side “Utility” vehicle
  • Able to drive a full-size work truck with trailer
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Reliable vehicle to get to and from work or other reliable transportation

Education Requirements:

  • High school diploma
  • Construction Technology degree or equivalent work experience

Compensation:

  • $35-$42 per hour | DOE
