Executive Housekeeper / Team – An amazing private family seeks an experienced estate trained full-time Executive Housekeeper in Cleveland, OH. This estate is not like any other estate as it operates like a boutique hotel and museum. The ideal candidate will have prior experience impeccably maintaining multiple residences. He / she will thrive in a positive culture of high standards, a collaborative and fast-paced work environment. Attention to detail, flexibility, and adaptability must be embraced daily. This person must be hands on and be willing to assist with any task but cognizant of and accountable for daily responsibilities. The position requires a high level of organization, attention to detail, and well-developed intuition. The main objective of this position is to ensure the properties are cleaned thoroughly and that the principals’ preferences are managed and exceeded on a consistent basis.

It also requires discretion, maturity, and overall good judgment. The candidate must be articulate and possess an outstanding work ethic. Confidentiality and discretion are of paramount importance.

Primary Responsibilities:

The Executive Housekeeper will manage a team of house cleaners, proactively being hands on and reporting to the House Manager (HM). Typical household tasks will include, but are not limited to:             

  • Full Housekeeping including daily cleaning & tidying, floors, interior windows, appliances, toilets, stripping and making beds, tracking and restocking linens and towels
  • Experience and knowledge of proper care of homes features, including antique furniture, antique light fixtures, large antique rugs, fine art, high-end fabrics & wall coverings, hardwood floors, carpet, granite, soapstone, high-end wood finishes, high-end marble, tile, wood ceilings and walls, and musical instruments
  • Thorough knowledge of cleaning products, cleaning tools / equipment and use of best practices
  • Stocking home with toiletries, pantry supplies, cleaning supplies, beverages, rotate and dispose of expired items
  • Updating and maintaining inventory list of household items and preferences to the EM
  • Laundry and dry-cleaning (will be assisted by the Laundress)
  • Maintaining closet organization
  • Packing and unpacking travel bags and suitcases as needed
  • Ability to provide expert overall direction, coordinate multiple property housekeeping schedules in coordination with EM, property managers, grounds keepers and executive staff
  • ” Pitching-in” and collaborating with co-workers while always being a team player
  • Excellent time management and organization; must pay extreme attention to detail
  • Other duties and projects as requested

 Qualifications

  • Ability to work with the highest degree of confidentiality
  • Vaccination required: Covid testing work environment
  • Estate trained housekeeping experience, preferably for multiple larger, high-end homes
  • Experience with data devices and communicating with smartphones
  • Fluent in English with exceptional communication skills, both written and verbally
  • Respectful of animals
  • Successful completion of a thorough background investigation and reference check
  • Domestic travel may be required

 Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to work prolonged periods standing, walking, pulling, bending, and lifting
  • Ability to walk on uneven surfaces
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to twenty-five pounds at times
  • Must be able to climb and descend stairs and ladders safely
  • Visual acuity

 Job Type

  • Full-time, live-out position
  • Monday – Friday: occasional weekends and some holidays as requested
  • General schedule 9:00 am – 6:00 pm: Flexibility is required
  • Candidates must have access to a reliable vehicle for work use
  • Immediate start date
