Full-Time Housekeeper

Location: West Palm Beach, FL
Residence: Private family home, approximately 5,000 sq ft

Position Overview

We are seeking a full-time, highly organized and detail-oriented Housekeeper to support the daily care, cleanliness, and organization of a well-maintained private family home in West Palm Beach.

This role is ideal for someone who truly enjoys organizing and restoring order, particularly in a home with children. The household values excellence, consistency, and continuous improvement.

The household includes children, a nanny, a chief of staff, professional chefs, and outside vendors. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a dynamic, collaborative environment and takes pride in maintaining a calm, orderly home.

Schedule & Compensation

• Hourly position with 35 guaranteed hours per week

• Typical hours are approximately 8:30am–4:00pm, Monday–Friday, with a 30-minute unpaid break. For the right candidate, we are open to discussing a slightly shorter daily schedule.

• Competitive hourly rate, commensurate with experience

• Occasional flexibility for slightly earlier or later hours with advance notice; opportunity for additional hours as needed

Primary Responsibilities

Daily Housekeeping & Cleaning

• Perform daily cleaning of the home, including kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms, living spaces, and high-traffic areas

• Maintain a consistently high standard of cleanliness, order, and presentation

• Handle periodic deep-cleaning tasks as needed

Organization & Resetting the Home

• Maintain an organized, functional home environment throughout the day

• Regularly reset spaces after children’s activities, returning rooms to a calm, orderly state

• Organize closets, drawers, cabinets, pantries, and storage areas on an ongoing basis

• Ensure organizational systems are maintained consistently over time—not just set once

Laundry, Ironing & Wardrobe Care

• Wash, dry, fold, and organize household laundry

• Iron clothing and linens with care and attention to detail

• Assist with closet and wardrobe organization as needed

Household Systems & Continuous Improvement

• Follow existing household routines and systems

• For the right candidate, there is opportunity to help improve and further develop systems, such as:

  • Daily, weekly, monthly, and seasonal cleaning schedules

  • Organization strategies for storage areas and high-use spaces

  • Simple checklists or routines that support consistency

Household Support & Vendor Coordination

• Run occasional errands as needed (note: grocery shopping is handled by chefs)

• Receive deliveries and assist vendors with access to the home

• Provide general household support to ensure smooth daily operations

Light Exterior Housekeeping

• Keep patios and outdoor living areas clean and presentable

• Perform light exterior upkeep such as sweeping and wiping outdoor furniture (no landscaping)

Qualifications & Desired Qualities

• Prior experience in a private household or high-standard residential environment preferred

• Comfortable working around children and alongside a nanny

• Naturally organized; takes pride in creating and maintaining order

• Self-starter who notices what needs attention and takes initiative

• Reliable, discreet, and respectful of privacy

• Strong communication skills and a collaborative attitude

• Physically able to perform housekeeping duties in a multi-room home

• Clean driving record and reliable transportation 

Seasonality

The family primarily resides in Florida approximately nine months of the year (September–May). Year-round employment is available; however, the family is open to discussing a modified schedule during the summer months.
