Job Title: Nanny / Governess, Live-in/Live-Out

Job Description:

A private family residence in Bryn Mawr, PA seeks an experienced & energetic Nanny/Governess to assist with their daily household affairs and help supervise their four (4) children. The right candidate should have great attention to detail, polished, and must have prior infant-care experience. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for managing children’s schedule
  • Childcare duties; monitoring the children, drop-off and pick-up, arranging play dates and educational field trips
  • Coordinate with other staff in the house
  • Coordinating the family travel schedules, family events, and travel itineraries
  • Grocery shopping and other personal shopping as
  • needed
  • Handling special requests, errands, and related duties as needed
  • Providing all aspects of childcare while creating a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment
  • Arranging all semester-based academic learning materials, exercises and progress reports
  • Responsible for monitoring the children’s academic progress
  • Taking children to and from appointments and activities
  • Ensuring the safety of the children at all times
  • Planning educational & recreational activities
  • Coordinating extracurricular children activities
  • Planning for any educational field trips (ex. museums, children events, libraries, etc)
  • Traveling with the family as needed
  • Maintain a constant line of communication and reporting to the parents
  • Running errands and procuring children supplies as needed

This is a full-time position, Live-in, or Live-out. Accommodations are offered on or off the property.

Typical schedule is Monday – Friday with weekends off, but must be flexible to work some weekends as need.

The salary is generous but final offers will be based on experience, along with a great benefits package.


  • Excellent references required from current and previous employers
  • Minimum 3 - 5 years related experience working for Private Residences
  • Prior background in Childhood Education, Teaching and Private Tutoring is a huge plus
  • Certification in CPR & First Aid
  • Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Polished, poised, and professional
  • Intelligent with strong problem-solving abilities
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills
  • Good swimming abilities
  • Flexibility to work overtime, nights, and weekends
  • Valid passport a plus
  • Flexible to travel with principals to the Hamptons and any other location as needed
  • Valid driver’s license is a plus
  • US work authorization
