An UHNW private family with a busy 125 acre eventer horse farm located in Ocala, FL is seeking a full-time professional housekeeper, with meal prep skills and the ability to provide care, handle, and feed three large dogs. The family has a larger home, but only two people residing in it, so most of the time much of it is unused . Housekeeping responsibilities will include daily graces, cleaning, running errands, food shopping, helping with meal prep, and laundry. The family also has three large dogs. The housekeeper would split their time between the house and helping feed, walk and care for the dogs. A love for animals is definitely a must and key to success! The family has a busy horse farm, so they have other employees on the property as well. Including the Ranch Manager, Barn Manager, Grooms and highly skilled maintenance technicians to assist in the day-to-day operations. The ideal candidate will have experience training, caring for and handling dogs, housekeeping and meal preparation are also required. This position reports directly to the Principal and Ranch Manager. You will be joining a first class family office, with staff dedicated to growth and advancement of individuals with a true service heart. The right candidate will grow this position into an eventual house manager positon, supervising the housekeeper and pet handler.  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

In this position, the job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Full charge housekeeping, daily graces.
  • Laundry
  • Food shopping
  • Cooking and meal prep, working with principal to ensure that all meals meet dietary needs
  • Working with ranch and barn manager on ordering and maintaining pet food supplies
  • Daily feeding, walking and overall care of dogs and other house pets
  • Maintaining confidentiality regarding principals, guests and day to day activities is essential
  • Must possess a true service heart
  • Maintain the highest level of hospitality services, always alert, friendly, and able to assist principal and guests politely and promptly.
  • Ensure the highest standards of first aid, safety, sanitation, and personal hygiene are met
  • Possess a positive and outgoing personality and share’s that in interactions with principal, guests and coworkers
  • Establish systems, inventories, and procedures to streamline and improve the care of home and dogs
  • All other duties as assigned

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

  • Ability to handle and manage dogs, experience in dog training and handling required

  • Must be US Citizen or legally able to work in US
  • Driver’s License
  • Must be self-directed, energetic, and motivated with multi-tasking capabilities
  • Demonstrates positive employee image and effective guest and coworker relations by exhibiting attention to detail, congeniality, integrity, and sound judgement
  • Must demonstrate clean work habits
  • Always conducts themselves in a professional manner in and out of the work setting

ACCOMMODATIONS

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

High School or equivalent education is required. Minimum 3 plus years’ experience working as housekeeper in private home. Background in dog handling and training is a must and a key element in this position. Experience working for a UHNW private family is highly preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

The candidate must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. The candidate must have the ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

This position requires the operation of a vehicle, candidate must possess a valid Driver’s License or be able to obtain one within 30 days of employment. The candidate’s driving record must meet the standards and requirements of the Company and the Company's insurance carrier.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

  • Employee must be comfortable around large dogs and other pets
  • Employee must adhere to Company and property policies and procedures, which are included in the Company’s Employee Handbook
  • Candidate may be subject to undergo pre-employment drug test, (after offer is given but before applicant has commenced work). Random drug tests are given throughout the year.
  • The Company operates as a drug free/smoke free workplace. Smoking is not allowed on the property, to include but is not limited to, company housing, vehicles, offices or on company machines.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment screenings, background and reference checks

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee may lift and/ move up to 50 pounds.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is sometimes exposed to wet, hot or humid conditions; work near moving mechanical parts; outdoor weather conditions; extreme heat.
