Private family in Arlington, VA is seeking two highly experienced ROTA Nanny / Family Assistants to join their household team. This is a long-term, stable position for a career nanny who is confident, calm, proactive, and capable of supporting a busy family with four children (ages 3, 6, 8 & 10 years).
The position follows a 7-on / 7-off rotation, with the nanny living in a private bedroom in the family’s nearby second home during the working week. Candidates must be fully comfortable with a rotational schedule, long hours, and working collaboratively with the parents and additional household support.
Responsibilities include:
• Engaging, loving, and developmentally supportive childcare
• Experience supporting children with neurodiverse needs (PDA/ASD/anxiety/sensory needs)
• Kid-focused meal prep and simple family cooking
• Family laundry and basic household organization
• Daily household resets and light tidying
• Occasional errands (grocery, returns, pickups)
• Coordinating with tutors, teachers, and therapists
• Travel to the family’s beach home (several days at a time during on-week)
• Assisting with packing, unpacking, and managing children’s items
• Maintaining a calm, grounded presence in a dynamic home environment
Schedule:
• 7am–9pm during the on-week
• Live-in required during the 7 days on (private bedroom provided)
• 7 full days off following each rotation
• Occasional natural breaks during the day when children are in tutoring/activities
• Parents are hands-on; nannies will rarely have all four children alone
Qualities & Skills:
• Warm, emotionally regulated, steady temperament
• Strong background with multiple children and high-energy households
• Experience with neurodiverse children strongly preferred
• Highly organized with excellent follow-through
• Comfortable with preparing healthy, kid-friendly meals, snacks & desserts
• Flexible, team-oriented, and comfortable working alongside parents
• Professional discretion and confidentiality required
• Must be comfortable with travel and multi-home family rhythms
Compensation & Benefits:
• $100,000 - $175,000 per year (DOE)
• Private bedroom in second home during on-week
• PTO offered in full rotation weeks (not individual days)
