Traveling Family Office Chef

Live-Out | Full-Time | Miami-Based | Coast-to-Coast Travel

Starting Compensation: $135,000–$165,000+, depending on experience and fit

Benefits: Comprehensive benefits package aligned with senior estate leadership roles

About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional Traveling Family Office Chef to join a dynamic UHNW family office based in Miami.

This is not a traditional restaurant role, yet expectations around execution, restraint, consistency, and presentation are firmly at a Michelin-level standard.

The Principal values beautifully plated food, technical excellence, and simplicity done perfectly—meals that look refined, intentional, and composed, whether they are health-forward daily meals or elevated comfort food.

The Principal is a highly selective eater with a deliberately simple palate—think kids-menu preferences, executed flawlessly. This role is ideal for a Chef who understands that cooking at the highest level is often about doing less, better, rather than showcasing complexity for its own sake.

Most days prioritize clean, organic, health-focused plated meals. At times, late nights may call for indulgent comfort food, prepared with the same discipline and ingredient quality—or responsibly staged in advance for seamless service.

This role rewards consistency, precision, and repeatability more than constant novelty.

Nutrition Philosophy

The goal is long-term health without joyless eating.

The Chef will be expected to design menus that quietly and consistently support:

  • Weight loss

  • Reduced blood pressure

  • Cardiovascular and metabolic health

  • Longevity and sustained energy

Guiding principles include:

  • Michelin-level presentation, even for intentionally simple dishes

  • Organic, high-quality, responsibly sourced ingredients

  • Clean proteins and straightforward preparations

  • Seasonal vegetables prepared simply and consistently well

  • Healthy fats; minimal added sugar

  • Reduced sodium without sacrificing depth or satisfaction

  • Thoughtful portioning that supports health goals

  • Minimal reliance on ultra-processed foods, seed oils, or unnecessary additives

The challenge—and opportunity—is to take simple, familiar food and elevate it through technique, sourcing, and execution, rather than complexity.

This is not a restrictive diet role. It is about discipline, balance, and refinement.

The Chef must also be comfortable collaborating with medical, wellness, or longevity professionals when appropriate—translating guidance into food that is enjoyable rather than rigid or clinical.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare daily breakfasts, mid-day meals, snacks, and dinners when the Principal or guests are in residence

  • Execute Michelin-level plated meals, even when the food itself is intentionally simple

  • Translate a “kids-menu” palate into refined, adult, health-forward meals

  • Design menus aligned with longevity, cardiovascular health, and weight-management goals

  • Prepare or stage high-quality late-night comfort food when required (e.g., elevated burgers, tacos, fries, classics)

  • Keep ready-to-warm or ready-to-serve food available for late-night arrivals

  • Fully stock refrigerators daily with fresh fruit, vegetables, clean proteins, cheeses, and fresh bread

  • Cook front-of-house with guests when appropriate as part of the experience

  • Independently source ingredients via farmers markets, Whole Foods, specialty purveyors, and delivery platforms

  • Travel on short notice to estate homes nationwide

  • Build, manage, and coordinate a trusted network of local sous chefs for coverage, events, and sustainable scheduling

Scheduling & Coverage Philosophy

The Chef is not expected to work unreasonable or unsafe hours.

Long-term success in this role depends on planning, foresight, communication, and responsible coverage. A strong network of trusted contract chefs in each city is essential.

When late-night arrivals are anticipated, the Chef is expected to:

  • Prepare refined, high-quality ready-to-warm food in advance, or

  • Ensure a trusted sous chef is scheduled to cover service

Schedule & Environment

  • Full-time, live-out position with personal transportation

  • Miami-based with frequent coast-to-coast travel

  • Non-traditional hours when guests are present

  • Close coordination with PAs, estate managers, house managers, and butlers

Success in This Role Looks Like

  • The Principal eats well daily without having to think about food choices

  • Health goals are advanced quietly and consistently

  • Simple dishes are executed flawlessly every time

  • Guests feel genuinely cared for without the experience feeling heavy or performative

  • Late nights are anticipated rather than reacted to

  • The Chef feels supported, rested, and proud of the work

Ideal Candidate

  • Proven ability to execute Michelin-level technique on intentionally simple food

  • Comfortable cooking for a selective palate without frustration or ego

  • Values consistency and precision over constant creativity

  • Strong understanding of health-forward, longevity-oriented cooking

  • Calm, adaptable, and unflappable in dynamic environments

  • Service-oriented with emotional intelligence and discretion

  • Low-drama, professional, and collaborative

  • Background in private service, luxury hospitality, or high-end fine dining

Requirements

  • Authorized to work in the U.S.

  • Reliable personal transportation and familiarity with the Miami area

  • Ability to travel extensively on short notice

  • Ability to pass background checks, drug screening, and reference checks

Compensation & Benefits

Starting compensation of $135,000–$165,000+, depending on experience and fit.

Benefits include:

  • Health insurance

  • Dental insurance

  • Vision insurance

  • Life insurance

  • 401(k) retirement plan with employer match

Paid Trial – What We Evaluate

  • Execution of simple dishes at a Michelin standard

  • Ability to work within selective preferences without frustration

  • Planning, communication, and anticipation

  • Cleanliness, organization, and composure

Are You That Chef?

If you can take simple, familiar food, make it beautiful, healthy, and consistently excellent, and do so without ego—this role will feel deeply satisfying.

Michelin polish. Kids-menu preferences. Real-world flexibility.

Paid trial required.
